We Bee-Long!!

Morning meeting....we started out by reading our chart and writing our names. Then we had a few minutes to go around like butterflies and say good morning to our friends.

During our math time we worked with pattern blocks. Some kids sorted them. Some of the kids made some pretty cool

We also worked on the types of shapes and how many sides there are to the shapes.

We will be learning about insects as our first Science unit. We will be reading stories, coloring insects, collecting insects, learning about their life cycles and so much more. Today we started the unit with a short story about insects called Where Do Bugs Live? by Jerald Halper. Followed by a coloring activity "We Bee-long!" buzzing bees.

Finished art work of bees.... Bzzzzz! Bzzzzz! Bzzzzz!

ECHO Field Trip

ECHO Field Trip
Thank you parents who volunteered to come along. We really had a great time! It was an excellent way to celebrate the end of an amazing year with these guys. I don't have a lot of  pictures from all groups, but used what I have so your imaginations can flow. While we were there visiting, butterflies were just being released. What a magical experience! Here is what I got, hopefully your kids provided lots of feedback of their experience on the trip.

Next mornings activity following our ECHO trip...

Classroom Clean up....
We spent the morning on Thursday cleaning up the classroom in prep for the window renovations that will be happening this summer.

Sharing by Evan....
Evan worked on a book that he shared with the class. It was all about his classmates. The kids really enjoyed it. Evan was very proud!

Comparison Chart....
The photos below show morning messages that was from the first week we started school(left) and the one on the right is from today. What a big difference a year makes! Every morning through the school year the kids had to do an activity or answer a question. Here is just a comparison of their handwriting. Love these little mile stones.

HAVE A WONDERFUL SUMMER!!!
We will miss not seeing you everyday, but look forward to seeing you all in the fall as you walk through the halls to 1st grade!!! It was a great school year with your amazing kids, each and everyone of them!
