As you may already know, its been a week of sickness between the stomach bug, the nasty head cold or the horrible cough. Please don't forget if you child has had a fever or has thrown up, s/he needs to be clear of the fever and throwing up for 24 hours before returning to school to prevent the spread of the sicknesses. We appreciate your support on this.
Snacks...
We are getting low and would appreciate some if you are so inclined. Pretzels, goldfish, crackers, rice cakes, granola bars, etc.
Please remember that we have a tree nut allergy in our classroom. Many granola bars are not OK for our classroom. Thanks!
Language Arts....
We have officially gone through the entire Alphabet and have learned all the letters. Today was our last letter. We learned which is Qq. Q is partnered with the letter u. Q doesn't like to be alone! Qu: Queen, quilt, quill, Quail, quarter, question, quiver.
Letter Writing....
We have been working hard writing letters to many people in the school and we have been getting back letters too!
The whole class received letters today, Beth read them out loud to us.
Beth is passing out the stack of letters to friends in class.
Syzer and Charley are working hard writing letters.
Mila at the mail station putting her letter in an envelope and stamp on it before putting it in the mail box.
Evelyn is putting a letter in the mail box.
Can you believe in Kindergarten we are learning number sentences?!
We use Ten's frames and unifix cubes to make our sentences. Other skills that we are focusing on right now are counting orally to 100 and counting orally backwards from 20 to 1. Great things to practice on car rides! We also have been working at math stations.
Number BINGO....
Spill the beans....
Unifix cube exploring...
This number chart hangs on a closet door in our room. Sometimes, kids just decide to walk over and count from 1-100 on their own. It's pretty awesome to see the self-instructed moments.
