In Language Arts the second group came up stairs and had the pleasure of seeing our Royal Reader. Monday our Royal Reader will be back to visit the first group. So I don't spoil it for others, I will wait to reveal the Royal Reader til Monday. The activity to go with it, was awesome. I promise it will be worth the wait! (Group 2, don't tell your classmates! They will love to be surprised.)
Due to the extremely cold outside temps, we had a lot of indoor recess!

In Math we worked on writing our numerals by playing the game called Number Beep. Then we rolled dice and drew circles. If you rolled a 3 then you drew 3 circles then Beth showed us the magic number and we had to change our amount of circles to match the magic number. For example if the magic number was 7 then you had to draw 4 more to make it match. Then we learned about heavier and lighter and compared things around the classroom to see which object were heavier and which object were lighter. We decided that if we had to go for a mile hike we would rather carry 4 candy canes in our backpack instead of 4 pieces of firewood because they are lighter and they would make a good snack along the way!
