Morning Activities....

Morning Meeting...
We counted the number of days we have been in school. Then we reviewed the Calendar. We reviewed the month, October, and the days of the week, which we have a song for, Days of the Week.  We also read "Yesterday was Thursday, Today is Friday, Tomorrow will be Saturday. Today is Friday the 13th!" Today we learned about handshaking. When we meet people we often shake hands when introduced or when seeing each other. We learned that you shake hands with your right hand and we said "Good morning ______."

Math....
Flash dots! Always trying to "trick" the kids to make it fun but they have gotten so good at this activity that it is hard to trick them. We got out our whiteboards and markers. Had a little time to draw if we wanted, before the lesson. Here is what some of the kids choose to do on their own.

River drawing a house.

Zoe wrote a sentence and drew a picture.

"I love swimmin." 

 Baden wrote number sentences.

 Sedsel - "I drew a tornado."

Willow drew a cake.

 Putting pictures of cakes with candles on them in order from 1-6.

Language Arts.....
Review, review, review! We practiced our letters and sounds. We also practiced writing our letters   Beth would say the sound and the kids would write the letter that matched the sound.  Then Beth moved on to saying a word and the kids wrote the first letter in the word on their boards!  What success!
