HAVE A WONDERFUL
THANKSGIVING BREAK!
Morning Meeting...
We continue to practice counting our numbers and doing it in many ways. Today we had fun counting to 10. We stood in a circle and each of us had to say the next number (1-10). If you were 10, you had to sit down and we continued until only one person was standing. We also practiced the handshake greeting. (Good practice for this holiday season, perhaps you will see your child shake hands with someone new.)
Math...
We played a great game with dice called Roll and Match. Kids had to change their amount of cubes to match their partners.
Book Corner......
Willow brought in a book to share with the class that she bought at the Book Fair. Pete the Cat Snow Daze by James Dean. "A fun, surprising, snowy adventure with Pete the Cat! In Pete the Cat: Snow Daze, school is canceled, and Pete cannot wait to play in the snow with all his friends."
Language Arts....
Letter matching! They love to do this a few times. We also heard a cute story from Echo and baby Echo. It was a story about Echo teaching baby Echo how to fly. Baby Echo didn't want to fly, because he was scared. But Echo taught baby Echo to be brave. Baby Echo learned to fly!
We talked about who the characters were, where the story took place, what was the problem with baby Echo and how they solved the problem, what happened in the end and how baby Echo felt in the beginning and end.
We reviewed our letter Jj, and learned how to write it the correct way.
Social Studies Project time....
We've been talking about the Pilgrims and Native Americans this week and when the First Thanksgiving dinner was. Today we made Native American headdresses. We all want to be Squanto because he was so kind and helpful!
