ECO

MORNING OUTSIDE TIME

Snow piles make great fun!

ECO!!!!
We got to our "camp"and each shared something we have noticed in nature. Some shared about animals they have seen, some about the trees, some about tracks they see in the snow.

We were challenged with having to make snow sculptures using at least 5 snowballs. Of course there was lots of snow play too!

Enjoying some tea! And playing with the shovels.

Nothing beats being outside in the snow than finding a hill to make a slide out of it.

Morning Meeting.....

Hula Balu Hula Balu this is what I say to you....
"Find someone with the same color as you and say good morning."

"Find Something in the classroom that has the same color you have and say good morning to it."

"Come back to circle and find a spot that is not yours but is the same color as yours."

Good morning high fives in our different spots. This means we have a new neighbor for our high fives!

We always have an activity on the chart. Sometimes its to write a number or letter or draw a picture of something. Today they had to write the last letter in your name. The kids did a great job!

Book Corner.....
The Marshmallow Incident by Judy Barrett. "From the creators of the bestseller CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS comes another zany, laugh-out-loud picture book! The Town of Left and the Town of Right are separated by a dotted yellow line, and no one on either side can remember how things got to be this way!"

The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.  "The Snowy Day is a 1962 children's picture book by American author and illustrator Ezra Jack Keats. Keats received the 1963 Caldecott Medal for his illustrations in the book. It features a boy named Peter exploring his neighborhood after the first snowfall of the season."

Arthor's Promise by Marc Brown. Arthur makes a promise to his sister and then wants very badly to back out, but he knows that is the wrong thing to do.

Math.....
We played a new game called "double match up."  We have unifix cubes that we grab and then see if we have an even amount or odd amount, then mark a point for a match or zero for no match.

Language Arts...
We did our letter review of all the letters we have learned so far. We know so many! Today's new letter is Hh! We did a letter H worksheet coloring in everything that starts with the letter H.
We also had "Fit Time" which is small group instruction working on letter identification and we are also starting to work our way into reading some early reader books.

Field Trip News
December 11th we will be traveling to the Flynn Theater to see a live performance of PETE THE CAT.  The kids need to bring a cold lunch on the 11th and we need to collect $8.50 from each student to pay for the tickets.  We need to collect the money before the 11th please and we do have scholarship money available if needed.  The Flynn always does a great job with their student shows!  It is so fun to see a live performance of books that we love to read!
