Sharing is ok....

Sharing is not ok...... if it goes on your head or in your mouth, you should not share.
straw, comb, spoon, cup, toothbrush, medicine, sunglasses, mouth guard. hat.

Math.....
Practicing counting to 100 with Connie and Beth! Way to go kids!

Science FRICTION....
Force and Motion.
We watched a video with Mrs. Frizz and the Magic School Bus. Who doesn't like Mrs. Frizz on a rainy day. We talked about Friction.
Some questions we had to think about friction. "What does friction mean?"
Libby "it means when there is no space on a surface. We are not slipping and sliding because of friction"
If something doesn't have friction the object will keep going.
Q: "Would a smooth table top or a bumpy table top have more friction?"
A: Corrina, "Bumpy!" Bumpy slows you down."
Q: "Would an Ice Rink or a field of grass have more friction?"
A: Syzer "the grass."
Q: What if you had shoes completely flat or shoes with nibbly nobblies have more friction?
A: "The nibbly nobblies have more friction."

Types of actions without Friction....
Skiing, Sliding, skating, playing shuffleboard, sliding, water skiing to name a few.

SCIENCE.....
Pushes and Pulls!
Force : push or pull that makes something move. Or stops something from moving too.
ie: Tug of war.
Push : is a force moving an object away.
ie: closing the door.
Pull : a force that moves an object closer.
ie: Pulling a wagon.
Motion : action or process of moving or being moved.
ie: rolling down the slide

How can you use force in your life?
Ideas.....
Evan : "Pulling a wagon."
Lucy : "Pushing yourself along the ground."
Sydney : "Pushing someone on the swings."
Davern "Pulling your dog."
Corrina : "Tug-o-war."
Grace : "Running."
William : "Walking."
Liz : "Hitting tether ball."
Evelyn "Playing tug-o-war with your dog. Bouncing on the trampoline."
Kora : "Move the couch to get something out from under it."
Beth : "Open the door. Pull and push!"
Beth "Turning the pages of a book?" Kids: "Yes I'm making it happen, that is a force.
Beth "Brushing my hair?" Yes, Wave, if there are knots you have to pull them out.
Beth "Sitting and watching TV?"  NO!
Beth "Brushing my teeth?" Yes!
Beth "Eating dinner?" Yes!
Beth "Throwing a softball with Cally?" Yes! Davern: "your catching."
Beth "Giving my mom a hug?" Charley "kind of, put your arms around her."

Today we had the task of drawing a force that we can do. We turned it into a book. "The Book of Force."

Lucy "Walking my dog."
Grace "Pushing William on the swing."

Hailey "Jumping on the trampoline."
Waverly "Running around with Q playing tag."

Charley "Walking my horse."
Syzer "Riding my bike."

Sydney "Swinging by myself."
Libby "playing tennis with my dad."
JJ "Soccer. Kicking a ball and running."
Dalton "playing lazer tag."
Corrina " Playing tug-o-war."
Kora "Jumping on the trampoline."
William "Walking a dog."
Evan "Push ups!"
Griffin "Pulling a wagon."
Gabe "Petting a cat."
Mila "Running."

Morning Greeting/Meeting...
Think of a force you used and share with the class. "My force I used at home was...."
Corrina "Moving the tire swing."
Evan "Walking"
Waverly "Pulling."
Davern "Skating."
Hailey "Jumping on the trampoleen"
Hunter "Jumping on the trampolene."
Evelyn "Biking and walking the dog."
Libby "Washing the dishes."
William "Picking up rocks."
Cayleigh "opening the truck door."
Syzer "Popping a wheelie on my bike."
Charley "walking the horse"
Mila "running."
Gabe "biking."
Sydney "biking."
Kora "Pull a wagon."
Jared "Bike."
Dalton "playing lazer tag."
Sierra "crumple up paper to make snowballs to throw at my sister and mom last night."
Grace "pushing on the swing."
Griffin "pulling a wagon."
Alexa "Going for a run."
Beth "Opening the car door."
Connie "Flushing the toilet."

"Would it be easier to push a bike up a hill or push a car up a hill?"
Syzer "The bike. Because the bike you can pick up but a car you cant pick up."
Grace "A bike. Because it weighs more less than a car."

"Would it be easier to go shopping without the shopping cart and carrying all the things or would it be easier to use a shopping cart and put thing in the cart.
Corrina "use the cart because you might drop something.
Kora "I think it would be to use a shopping cart so that things wouldn't fall and get dirty so you would have to pay more.
William "use a shopping cart so that things don't break."

Evelyn "A cart is easier. Because if you carry it would make it harder and it would make it longer in the store."

"Do you think it would be easier to paddle a canoe full of feathers or a canoe full of bricks?"
Davern "Feathers because bricks w
eigh more and canoes are stronger."
Charley "Feathers because they don't weigh as much and are softer."
Syzer "Feathers."

Science Experiment......
Today we used a block and a piece of sand paper.
"What did you notice about your block and how it move without sandpaper?"
Syzer "It slid fast."
Davern "Really good and about 10 inches."
William "It went a little bit slower."
Corrina "it moved about 16'"
Charley "it went about 1 foot."

"What did you notice with sandpaper on the rug."
Mila "It didn't move at all."

"What did you notice with the sandpaper block on the table."
Sydney "it moved about 2 inches."

What did you notice with the sandpaper block on the tile."
Kora "It went slow, maybe 5 or 4 inches."

As Scientists we used the sandpaper and we noticed that it made it harder for the block to move. Without the sandpaper we saw that the block moved faster.
