Water Water Water

WATER, WATER, WATER!
Who's playing in the water?

I think this weeks theme was Water! Lots of water excursions of sorts. Very appropriate for this weather we have been having. I hope you all continue to enjoy what seems to be like summer.

We are almost done with our year of Kindergarten. Can you believe you are all almost 1st graders!?!  You have all done such a fabulous job! We are so, so proud of you all. We wish we could have all been together in school the last couple months, but grateful technology has allowed us to get together and say hi, check in. Know we care about you so very much, and if we could we would give you high fives and hugs daily. So get yourself a hug from Mom or Dad, Grandma or Grandpa, and pretend for a moment it's from Beth and I. Keep smiling. Keep sharing your pictures.

This week in our morning meeting....
We had our very favorite, one and only, ECO Dave!
We shared our nature notes.
Here are some things we had to share:
Ginny : A mink got her bunny. And she has a fox living near them too.
Greta : Has tad poles and they are getting really fast. She' has been taking long nature walks
and she has salamanders.
Laney : saw geese flying and a ton of worms as well as a orange salamander.
Evelyn : Saw a red neft. Saw two.
Nava : Noticed outside it's getting really green and also noticed the rhododendron.
Nate: found a snake skin! Also a dead skunk on the road.
Molly : Her and her brother saw a snake. And they have been planting a garden with strawberries.
They found lots of worms in their garden.
Hollis: Has been finding frogs. And on a walk he found a feather.
ECO Dave found a similar one.
Renna : Wend on a bike ride and went to a water fall.
Tobin : Saw a porcupine walking with his Dad. They watched it climb a tree.
Luke : Saw a bear getting into the dumpster.
Ava : A woodpecker comes to their house and pecks on the metal chimney.
Russell : They accidentally hit an owl with their car, but they buried it.
Willow : At her Dad's house they have been feeding raccoons and chipmunks.

REMINDERS:
Don't forget you should be doing Lexia and Zern a few minutes a day.

Read one or two of your books we sent you each day. It's really good practice and if you were at school, Beth and I would be reading with you each day. Keep up the good work.
* Parents - you can ask kids "what starts at the beginning of a sentence?" "A capital letter."
"What comes at the end of a sentence?" "A period. Or a exclamation point." Etc.
What do you notice in the picture? What do you think will happen next?
Show me the cover of the book.
*Use your pointer finger to read the words. Sound out as best you can. Use pictures to help you determine what the words may say.

Sometimes it is helpful to review your Alphabet letters and the sounds they make. Feel free to review your letter sheet before starting your reading.
