Evelyn has been riding her bike a lot. She rode all the way from her house to Blueberry Lake and back. She has also been busy creating some trails around her house in the woods.
Sounds like fun!

Evelyn made a bird house.
That looks awesome. Was that hard to do?
What kind of bird do you think will go to that bird house?

Evelyn found a red eft.

Dancin' girls by the river. Looks like you are having fun Willow!

Sawyer has been doing a lot with sight words. Here is a game he is playing.

(Dino skeletons hardened into corn starch and water, used tools and paint brushes to dig them out)

What is your horse's name?

After a hard day of workin' this is how you relax in the Robinson family.
Looking good Ava!

Taking a walk with the biggest umbrella Ava could find.

What do we have here?
How did that happen? Perhaps Ava and Evelyn have seen some similar behaviors from the same animal?

Thanks for all the pictures friends! So great to see what you have been up to. We miss you. Stay healthy!

Nature Notes

We can't say enough how much we MISS YOU!!!!
We hope you had a nice break last week.

We rocked the first handful of weeks remote learning and we will continue to rock our remote learning for the rest of this year.

Please know you can reach out to us any time with concerns, questions or just to share a moment in your life.
We are here for you!

Nature notes with Dave....
It was so great to have Dave with us during our morning meeting today. Thanks Dave for joining. Here is what we all had to report.

Dave: Shared his special sticks that he used as a talking stick and that he has used as his fire starting sticks. He also saw 14 turtles in a pond, all snapping turtles. He also had a close encounter with two little downy woodpeckers that flew right by his face (he could feel the air from their wings whisp by his face) as he was hanging out on his sit spot.

Connie : Has been watching a bald eagle flying around her house by the pond.

Nava: Has been seeing a little chipmunk that goes under her deck. She has seen it gathering food and then seeing it with big cheeks.

Greta: Has tad poles in their little pond that she keeps checking on. She is noticing that they are getting bigger.

Molly: Has been seeing lots of frogs.

Ginny: Has a small pond and has been watching frog eggs get bigger and bigger. She also noticed that the eggs are laid on  sticks that are dead in the water.

Evelyn: Saw 25 frogs and she also went salamander hunting too.

Laney : Saw a black bear in her forest. She drew a picture about it and wrote in her journal about it.

Hollis: Has a fox that comes to their house and it almost caught one of their chickens.

Nate: Saw a giant, giant garden snake! (Yikes!)

Ava: Has been watching ducks at her Nana's pond and she thinks they are making a nest and going to lay eggs.

Renna: Went to Reicher pond and caught a salamander. She also saw some ducks fighting.

Russell : Saw a moose in the gulf.

Luke: Went to the snow making pond and saw two beavers and they splashed too.

Fin: Saw 2 baby ducks that are really cute.

Willow: Saw a bird in a pond.

Tobin: Saw ducks nesting and has also caught a lot of frogs.

Beth: Saw a "rubber" salamander! Just kidding, come to find out it was a very cold, sleeping salamander.

Great job sharing today friends! You are all amazing! Keep checking things out in nature. Some things you can do:
*  Find a sit spot that you can go do daily if you can out in your yard, in the forest maybe, wherever you can just be with the wonderful surroundings of nature. Sit for a few minutes and each day or week, see what you notice has changed. Buds on trees, more birds, frogs croaking, worms unearthing themselves, grass turning greener. Take notes, draw pictures.
*  Make your own fairy garden.
*  Find yourself a talking stick and decorate it.
*  Find a rock and paint it or keep it as a special rock to hold.
*  Draw a picture while you sit at your sit spot.
*  Count how many birds you see.
*  Listen to the different sounds birds make. How many different birds do you think you heard?
*  Meditate.
*  Just be with nature and breathe! ❤

This week in Kindergarten news

Hi All! We have gotten through another week.
You are all sooo AMAZING!
We have some more pictures to share and hope you enjoy looking through them.
Next week is "vacation" week, but if you want, we would love to see more pictures, so send them along.
Continue to stay healthy! Get outside! And Hug your family members!
We miss you, we care about you, and we are sending big hugs to you!

A big shout out to FIN!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
We hope you are having a wonderful Birthday week.

Fin making some yummy cookies. I'll have one Fin!!!
How many cookies did you make?

Luke is flying a kite. How long did your kite stay up in the air Luke?
You've inspired me to go get one and fly my own. I'll have to check into that.

Molly has been outside helping around the house doing some gardening.
Can you come help me Molly?

Molly, with her brother William is out in nature looking for frogs!
How many did you find?

Luke enjoying some down time snorkeling!
Looking good Luke!

Laney has been busy working on her families worm farm garden.
How long have you had these worms?

Laney shows us a worm that is helping her compost break down.
How many worms do you think you have? I bet a lot!!!!

There are a few things that go into having a worm garden. You need a couple boxes. Then you feed them your scraps of food. The worms break down the food and create beautiful compost to use in your gardens.

Greta enjoying some egg dying with her big sister.
How many eggs did you color? Great designs on the eggs too.
Great work. LOVE YOUR SMILE!

The class on Google Meet Monday morning! It has been so great to see you all during our meetings. Thank you for joining and thank you parents for helping your child during this time we have together.

Nava and her brother are in the kitchen cooking! They have been making lemon, strawberry popsicles!
Raise your hand if you want one!!!! I do! I do!
Nava I am so impressed that you and your brother are using a knife and doing so very carefully.
Do you like to cook?

Russell has been enjoying some time on his bike! Look at Russell go, he is riding without training wheels. Way to go!
Do you have a bike that you ride?

Evelyn has been working on a hand loom, weaving.
Is that hard to do? What are you making Evelyn?

Tie dying cookies with Evelyn anyone? I think we have a lot of cooks in the kitchen these days. I bet these kids will be great cooks for their families when COVID-19 is all said and done.
Those cookies are beautiful Evelyn. Did you make me one? Who wants a cookie!?

Wow, look at all that foam?  This is one way to keep the germs away! 😉
This is Evelyn playing with some colored soap foam.
Did you make the colored soap?

Greta looking for frogs in her pond. She has been going a lot to see if she can catch one. Have you caught any Greta?

Luke playing in the sand box. Looks fun!
Did you make any sand castles? Create a constructions site?
Maybe you can write words in the sandbox. ?

Luke ripin it up on his bike.
It must be spring, kids are really getting out there with their bikes.
(Sorry for the sideways pics, Luke, but I couldn't turn them. Still super cool!)

A few things you can try....

Sawyer has been doing his sight words in playdough! What a great way to learn them.

Maybe you would like to use shaving cream instead. Remember we did this in class? Here is a picture of when we did. Renna had so much fun that day!

Don't forget that Lexia has lots of great learning to be had. A few minutes a day is a great way to boost your reading skills.
