Congrats Kindergartener's! You did it!!

We are so PROUD of you kids! We wish we were giving you hugs as we say good bye to Kindergarten and welcome the upcoming year of 1st grade.

First picture of all of us together.

Below are a couple pictures that hit me one day at school a couple weeks ago. As you know, Beth and I have been in school a few times to get more materials prepped for you. While in school there has been a big emptiness that sits with us. The emptiness is not having you in the class to see every day. Not being able to give you a hug or a high five. Unable to play a game with you or teach you new words or watch you grow into your 6 year old selves. To share the excitement of your lost tooth or a fun experience you had when not at school.
Our calendar sits on the wall showing right where we left off. Looking at this reminds us of how far we had come as a Kindergarten class. It is also a reminder of how far we had left to go. Regardless it is a moment frozen in our classroom. A moment that we will remember when our lives changed to be where we are today. This also reminds me of how it is possible that YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!!! You can learn anywhere and you did! You kids have the ability to take on any challenge you want and we are PROUD of you for it. Keep it up!

Our Class Rules
Do you remember coming up with these rules?
Do you think you as a Kindergartner and a member of your family do all of these?
I know that after we made these rules, we saw all of you practicing all of these things.
Keep it up, whether at school, home, anywhere, you can be this person.

Check out your names and how you wrote them.
Do you write them the same now? What has changed?

Water Water Water

WATER, WATER, WATER!
Who's playing in the water?

I think this weeks theme was Water! Lots of water excursions of sorts. Very appropriate for this weather we have been having. I hope you all continue to enjoy what seems to be like summer.

We are almost done with our year of Kindergarten. Can you believe you are all almost 1st graders!?!  You have all done such a fabulous job! We are so, so proud of you all. We wish we could have all been together in school the last couple months, but grateful technology has allowed us to get together and say hi, check in. Know we care about you so very much, and if we could we would give you high fives and hugs daily. So get yourself a hug from Mom or Dad, Grandma or Grandpa, and pretend for a moment it's from Beth and I. Keep smiling. Keep sharing your pictures.

What are you listening to while you color your pages?

Austin went camping with his family. He made an airplane.
Great tent you have there buddy! How far did your plane fly?

Here is Austins camp fire, where he and his family cooked a chicken in a pot with coals.
Pretty sweet idea. How long did it take for your dinner to cook?

What temperature do you think the water was?

Nava, sitting cool, river side style.
Was it cold?

Who says you can't sand the deck on a skate board?!
Get on board y'all! This is the new way to work efficiently.

Time for some fun!

Dandelion wishes!

Remembering a special person. Planting flowers and watering.
Very sweet. Nice work Evelyn.

Did you do any rock skipping?

In case you're curious, the apple and cherry trees at school are blossoming! Thanks Skip for keeping us up to date.  They are beauties.

Crawfish! Connie and her son, Jonathan were playing in the pond and found this little bugger.

He wanted to go back to his habitat! If you can see its got its claws out ready to pinch!
I wasn't gonna touch it! (Neither was Jonathan!)

She went to a greenhouse to pick out plants.
Nice job Ava!

Ava found a bear print. WOW! That looks like a good size one.
Have you seen a bear this year?

If anyone is looking for a helper to hold a hose, we should call Pops!
With this summer weather we've had, I bet there are many Pops out there holding hoses.
Looks fun and refreshing Ava.

Nava, where are your feet? More fun in the sun and water.

Pajama Jam on the Piano! It's the new rave.
Imaginative play at it's best. Rock on!
