Special Guest

FIELD TRIP is Tuesday December 11th! There are still some friends who have not brought in their money. We need to collect $8.50 from each student. Please send your money in if you haven't already. Thank you!  Also, kids need a cold lunch on Tuesday!

Happy Birthday to these two 6 yr olds!!!
Evan and Jared share the same birthday!

Morning Activities....

Math....

Language Arts...
We are the teachers! Everyone was able to have a turn being the teacher and going to the front of the room to teach us about their letter. We have gone through enough letters in the alphabet that we each are able to teach a different letter. We each have a turn to say the letter, give the picture clue and say the sound. Everyone then has to repeat what they were taught.

Griffin, being the teacher.

We continue to work in our handwriting books, working hard on writing our letters. Today we worked on letter Vv.

Special Guest.....
Tracey Martin from the Flynn Theater came to talk to us about the Flynn and the show we are going to watch, Pete the Cat!!! We did a lot with movement and learned a few lines that we may hear from Pete the Cat in the show as well as pretended to be on the VW (Very Wonderful) bus and made up our own movement routine to some Pete the Cat music. Tuesday's show at the Flynn will be amazing, looking forward to what the kids have to say about it!

4 Winds Fun

Pete the Cat....
We are going on a field trip, December 11th to watch a show, Pete the Cat, at the Flynn. In preparation for this we have been reading a lot of Pete the Cat books and have even been doing a couple of projects about Pete the Cat. He's a "Grrroovvvvyyyy" guy that we all love to hear about.

Books....
Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin. "Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes is the first in a series of American children's picture books featuring a fictional cartoon cat named Pete. The book features text and music by Eric Litwin and illustrations by James Dean, who had created the character previously." The moral of the story is No matter what you step in keep walkin and singing along because it's all good.

Special Guest....
Our friend Gus came in to read us a story. Thank you Gus for reading Not Quite Narwal  by Jessie Sima. "In the tradition of Uni the Unicorn and Gaston, this heartwarming and adorable debut picture book tells the story of a young unicorn who was born under the sea to a family of narwhals. Growing up in the ocean, Kelp has always assumed that he was a narwhal like the rest of his family."

We have been working on doubles and fair share.  We have also been learning some new math games.

4 Winds.... Predator or Pray?
We had our wonderful 4 Winds guest, Stephanie (Sierra's Mom) come in and share with us about animals who are predators and animals who are prey. We talked about ways that we can escape a predator and what Pray might do to get away from the predators.  Stephanie and Beth did a puppet show for us. We also drew pictures in our 4 Winds science journals.
