4 Winds Fun

Pete the Cat....
We are going on a field trip, December 11th to watch a show, Pete the Cat, at the Flynn. In preparation for this we have been reading a lot of Pete the Cat books and have even been doing a couple of projects about Pete the Cat. He's a "Grrroovvvvyyyy" guy that we all love to hear about.

Books....
Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin. "Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes is the first in a series of American children's picture books featuring a fictional cartoon cat named Pete. The book features text and music by Eric Litwin and illustrations by James Dean, who had created the character previously." The moral of the story is No matter what you step in keep walkin and singing along because it's all good.

Special Guest....
Our friend Gus came in to read us a story. Thank you Gus for reading Not Quite Narwal  by Jessie Sima. "In the tradition of Uni the Unicorn and Gaston, this heartwarming and adorable debut picture book tells the story of a young unicorn who was born under the sea to a family of narwhals. Growing up in the ocean, Kelp has always assumed that he was a narwhal like the rest of his family."

Math....
We have been working on doubles and fair share.  We have also been learning some new math games.

4 Winds.... Predator or Pray?
We had our wonderful 4 Winds guest, Stephanie (Sierra's Mom) come in and share with us about animals who are predators and animals who are prey. We talked about ways that we can escape a predator and what Pray might do to get away from the predators.  Stephanie and Beth did a puppet show for us. We also drew pictures in our 4 Winds science journals.
