Four Winds

Morning Activities.....
Alphabet letters are a big hit these days. The biggest thing is creating each others names and linking them together.

The drawing crew! Honestly there are going to be some Artists, Architects, or perhaps Engineers in this group.

Four Winds.....
Thank you to Stacey (Sedsel's mom) and Rachel (Narumi's step-mom) for coming in to talk to us about the cycle of water. They put on a great puppet show and then did many experiments with us. Check us out!

Experiment 1....
Making water move! How do you do that? Well, Stacey showed us with a piece of paper (with a maze on it), a piece of wax paper, a toothpick and a couple tiny water droplets on top of the wax paper. Then using the toothpick, touch a water droplet and see if you can get the water droplet to attach to the toothpick and be dragged around.

 Experiment 2....
Rachel demonstrating water droplets on a penny. How many drops of water can fit on a penny before over flowing on the table?

Experiment 3....
Using a paper clip and a fork, we try to see if we can make the paperclip float in a cup of water. When done slowly, many of us were able to find success. Some of us also found that in order to make it happen we needed to dry off our fork and paper clip otherwise there was a disadvantage.

Success! The paper clip floats!

Experiment 4...
Cold and Hot water mixing together, what happens?
Taking two tubes(adding dye for demonstration purposes); one with cold water and one with hot, now dipping the cold water tube in the hot water and nothing happens, the cold water sits at the bottom,
because cold water mixed with hot water is heavy and sinks.

Dipping the hot water tube in cold water demonstrates what happens when they are mixed, and the result is that the hot water rises to the top.
