We Are All READERS!

 We are all READERS!!!
Each day our readers get better and better.  We have been looking at pictures of familiar places around town, or items from the grocery store that have words on them. As you go shopping, go to the Post Office, the gas station or across the covered bridge,  ask your child about the words they see on them. Have them be reading detectives and find the picture(s) that help read the words telling us what we are looking at.

Did you know we have lots of outside time? We go out for recess in the morning after our snack, after lunch and sometimes we have extra time to go out in the afternoon before pick up.

Today after recess Beth read the story The Octopuppy, By Martin McKenna
"Edgar wanted a dog. Instead he got an octopus named Jarvis. Jarvis couldn't do anything a dog could do. Can the octopuppy be the perfect pet for Edgar?"

This book taught us about being a good friend and how we talk to people makes a difference.

REMINDER: Kids have a long day at school and are very busy learners. If you can remember to provide your child with an extra snack for in the afternoon your child will appreciate it. Or if you would like you could get a box of cheerios, bag of popcorn, bag of pretzels, box of granola bars, just for some ideas,  that could be shared with the class. Thank you.
