I can

Morning Meeting....
Reading the chart, recognizing words and how many words make up all of our sentences. Today's question was "Do you like computer lab?"  It was a whole class cheer when they heard we have computer lab today.
Greeting....Kings and Queens. Kings and Queens have a special bow or curtsy.  Each King and Queen in the room greeted their neighbor. We walked around the room marching and walking like Kings and Queens too.

Marching around the room as Kings and Queens.

Math.....

We read Cat Show by Jane Harvey. There are all kinds of cats, but how do they need to be put into groups. It's a book about counting and sorting. This was a great tie in to how to make number sentences. We practiced writing number sentences using unifix cubes. 1 red + 2 blue = 3 all together ,
 2 + 2 = 4,  3 + 0 = 3.

Making number sentences. Willow is very focused. River might be a little tired.
Thayer is super excited!

Language Arts....
We have been splitting up into groups to do different stations. There is a sentence making station. A drawing station working on fine motor skills. And a station for letter building where we create letters with wooden pieces. We reviewed our letters B, T, F, M, N, U, I.

Book Corner...
Ten Little Lady Bugs by Melanie Gerth

Computer Lab....
Once a week we go into computer lab and work on Lexia. It's a great program that progresses with the kids. Occasionally we have iPads in the classroom for kids to do the Lexia program too.

Writing....
We have been writing over the past few weeks. This week we are working on "I can" pages. This is the beginning of the kids making their own goals. Here are a few ideas that the kids had for their writing pages....

Baden and Nora are creatiivly adding detail to their I can pages.

Thayer "I can ride a bike with out training wheels."

Jack "I can feed the dog."

River "I can ride a bike."

Narumi "I can ride a bike with training wheels."
