Letter four in the alphabet

SNACKS...... We are in need of snacks. If you are so inclined we could use some. (Or please send along more food with your child.) Thank you for helping us out. Ideas for snacks are: granola bars, goldfish, pretzels, cheerios, apples, fruit snacks, clementines, etc.

WREATH ORDERS.....Return by Friday!
Check your child's folder for Wreath Order forms. This is to support the 6th grade trip. A yearly fundraiser that 6th graders rely on. Buy a wreath or two, ask your neighbor, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Thank you for your support!

Morning Meeting......
Calendar review. We changed months! Now it's November. We talked about the number of days, days of the week, the months.
Morning Greeting.....rolling a tennis ball to a friend across from us and saying "good morning."

Math....
Finger flash! It's getting harder to trick these guys, but its a great way to build number recognition.  Then we played Snap math with unifix cubes.  Kids worked with partners to play this game.  One kid would hide ten blocks behind their back and then the other kid would say "Snap!".  The one who was hiding the blocks would break them apart and show some of them to their partner.  The partner would have to figure out how many were still hiding.  We were using two sets of five, like five blue and five yellow.

Language Arts....
Letter number 4 in the alphabet is, Dd! Today we learn about letter Dd. We review many objects with the letter D. Doll, dragon, door, dog, dice, dinosaour, dominos, dollar, dolphin, dime.

Four Scary Stories  by Tommy DePola.  "One dark night, an imp, a goblin, and a scalawag get together to tell the scariest stories they can think of--Boy stories ."
