Rods and Cubes

Morning Activities....

Morning Meeting....
Have you ever asked your child to count with you? Next time you think of it, whether you are in the car, at dinner, bath time, etc you can ask your child to count by 1s, 10s or count backwards from 20-1. The chart has parts missing some days. Today we were missing a couple sight words that if kids noticed they could put those words in. As well as puctuation. There were a couple of "periods" that were missing and they were filled in by someone.

Greeting: today we rolled the ball to a friend at circle. This works on following directions, look the person they are rolling the ball to and say good morning.

Book Corner...
Bathtime for Busquit by, Alyssa Satin Capucilli. "In a beginner book about the popular puppy, Biscuit runs away from his bath and rolls in the dirt with his puppy friend, Puddles."

Where's the Big Bad Wolf by Eileen Christelow. "Whenever there’s trouble on Detective Doggedly’s beat, that low-down, no-good, chicken-chasing, pig-poaching Big Bad Wolf is always the prime suspect. But when the three little pigs’ house is huffed and puffed into a pile of straw and only a sheep named Esmeralda is found at the scene of the crime, Doggedly has a new mystery to solve: Where’s the Big Bad Wolf? With the help of some wise elderly cows who live in a home across the road, Doggedly sniffs out the clues. But can he catch the culprit before the three little pigs get gobbled up?"

Math....
In math today we continued to build numbers with rods and cubes.  We built numbers like 43.  The kids used 4 rod that are worth ten and 3 cubes to make 43.
