Bats

We are reviewing the "beginning," "middle," and "end" of a book. Knuffle Bunny was the book we used to do this activity. We have been drawing pictures of the beginning, middle and end as well as retelling in our own words what the beginning, middle and end is.  We have been reviewing our sound cards of vowels and consonants.  Letters we have been reviewing are; B, D, C, S, T, N, M, F, A, E, I, O, U.  We have been using the magnetic alphabet boards. When asked, "find the letter that makes the sound ___," kids find the letter and show it on their magnetic boards. We finish our time with partner reading or independent reading.

Today the number 10 was introduced in math.  We continue to work on recognizing the numerals and thinking about different ways we can make 10. i.e. 5 and 5, or 9 and 1 equal 10.

We had a great video today about Bats! The video came from the PBS, Wild Krats.   Many of the kids have seen shows from the Wild Krats. It was a great video and we learned a lot. Kids did a writing activity where they drew a picture of something they learned about Bats and then wrote about it.

Thank you all for the snacks for the classroom. It is very helpful to those who forget snack or don't have enough and need a little more.
