We hope you had a wonderful, long weekend, and are taking time to enjoy the beauty around us. Mother nature has certainly provided some breathtaking scenery.

At the end of last week we did a Social Studies lesson on Christopher Columbus. We read a story about Christopher Columbus, sang a couple songs, as well as made our own ships. Kids will bring home those projects today.

We continue to work on letters Aa and Gg and today we started learning about Dd and Ss. We are matching objects to letters and also writing letters in the sand. We've also played a bean bag toss game, where the letters are on the bean bag, you need to say the name of the letter and then the sound of the letter and throw it into the bucket. We continue to work on partner reading and identifying beginning, middle and end of the book. Today we read The Little Red Hen.

Today we ordered the numbers 0-10 and practiced writing numbers 0-7.  We also played some games with our number lines.

Did you know we have a "voice scale chart"? We encourage kids to use appropriate voice levels during the day in appropriate places. Check out our chart that we use throughout the school.

We read More Spaghetti I Say! by Rita Golden Gelman and Kick, Pass and Run by Leonard Kessler.

We have hungry kiddos every day. Thank you for sending in snacks for your child for their morning snack, but if you are able please provide them with snack they can choose for our afternoon snack. OR if you can or want to, please send in a box of cheerios, or bag of pretzels, popcorn or anything healthy for the kids to have that teachers can hand out to kids who don't have a snack.
